Passing Beavertail

My second sail of 2015 (I guess I'm keeping count) came a couple of days ago with a quick escape out Narragansett Bays East Passage.  It feels good to go through the motions of removing the sail cover, attaching the jib hanks, attaching the halyards, raising the sails, adjusting the sheets, watching the water pass under the boat as she moves along via the wind.

In the above photo you may notice that the mainsail looks a bit like a quilt with the patch job.  

I really had to fight the urge to just continue sailing southward, out to Block Island and places beyond.
