The Smartphone Steals the Show!

A VERY PLEASING TO THE EYE DAY on Narragansett Bay in April of 2015.   The brisk west wind blows a couple of sailboats across the chilly blue waves.  The longest bridge span in New England carries on it's perpetual carrying of automobiles across (NO BIKES OR PEDESTRIANS ALLOWED), Jamestown, Conanicut, Aquidneck, Rhode, Beavertail flashes every 8 seconds, the Kennedy wedding lawn is still green, a flock of seagulls follows a lobster boat, not quite clear enough to see Point Judith Light but I think the Point Judith water tower was visible, Goat Island still has no goats and I'm waiting for some zany rascal to take one of those hearty beasts on a leash and stroll across the causeway.  Ah but really it's just reality technicolor overload and the Ghost of Verrazano and others feel it's not worth the hassle to create a stir, the rusted bell buoy goes unheard from our oblivion or it's all too much or boring or the opening act that no one REALLY came to see and so finally after an eternity (two or three minutes?) it's the Smartphone!

Yes again for the algorithmically calculated umpteenth time the Smartphone takes the stage.  Yes it takes the stage without applause or fanfare, just an hypnotized stare.  Souls impervious to the world.  The Smartphone keeps us warm, the modern fire that it is.

And that's it.  Nothing can compete!  Nothing else has a chance, that is until the masters of human behavior come up with something new (the undoubtedly have I bet and sold the rights to a massive distributor and soon the next phase).
