Po-mans' World Chariot

Cinderella and Fletcher Christian married, had a baby and the baby is YOU!

Betcha didn't know that huh?

Meanwhile, as you resolve your identity crisis...

Was it not in the early 1960's that the fiberglass/polyester boats started coming into their own?  1960 was 54 years ago and many of these fiberglass battlecruisers continue to sail the worlds' oceans;  Methuselah boats sailing everywhere forever.

The basic scientific principles of sailing have not changed much over the years as far as I can tell.  The wind continues to blow as it always has and the wind demands no cash although the thought of someone holding a phat roll of hundred dollar bills suddenly getting dislodged by a violent wind gust that quickly scatters the hundred dollar bills into a crowd of long broke starving beggars is intriguing.  And yet other winds or the same wind continues to move boats all over the seas as has occurred long since before Airbus or Boeing or steamships.

The Vikings built boats that left no wake so I've been told.  That makes me think of leaving no trace while hiking and camping in the woods which sounds like a Native American maxim or a John Muir maxim.  I've also seen many times a 12 meter yacht barreling along in a stiff breeze and trailing behind it a rooster tail of a rolling wake akin to the rolling ocean swell at the bar near the inlet to Morro Bay.

I read that Matt Rutherford spent about $30,000 as he sailed solo non-stop around North and South America in an Albin Vega 27 sailboat called "St. Brenden".  How can you not love a Swedish built boat with an Irish name?  I think the Vikings founded Dublin back in the day and without too much effort you too can find a pretty decent Albin Vega for little money somewhere.  You can even give the boat an Irish name.

Do you like the idea of being a child of Cinderella and Fletcher Christian?  Andy Warhol was said to be the child of Cinderella and Dracula, hence his name "Drella".  Shall we call you "Flella"?  Or how about "Cindetcher"?  Oh, and did you know Drella is your half brother?

So, if you're like me and suck at the art of making money but possess other merit-able skills or at the very least possess an indomitable brute force and ignorant determination then the Po-mans' World Chariot is yours.  Heck, it might even be hereditary and if not so what.

Fair Winds
Captain Bill
